As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a vital role in fostering partnerships between the ACT Parks and Conservation Service and local communities.

Main duties include:

  • Developing and implementing community engagement programs across the PCS Estate.
  • Collaborating with PCS staff to build relationships with the community and promote volunteer opportunities.

This field-based position requires minimal supervision and involves working on weekends and outside core business hours. It also involves participating in bush fire fighting activities when necessary and displaying self-motivation, drive, and enthusiasm.

This role is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally diverse people, and those who identify as LGBTIQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual drivers' licence.
  • Willingness to wear a uniform.
  • Ability to work a roster including weekends and public holidays.
  • Current registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience relevant to natural or cultural resource management and/or volunteer management.
