Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Volunteer Program Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in engaging and supporting volunteers in delivering visitor engagement activities and experiences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing volunteer programs, such as ParkCare VisitorAssist and WildlifeAssist, while collaborating with visitor services staff and the Volunteer and Visitor Experience team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and has excellent communication skills. You will work closely with a dedicated team of volunteers who facilitate nature-based experiences for visitors.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Recruitment and retention of volunteers
  • Management of volunteer programs, including ParkCare VisitorAssist and WildlifeAssist
  • Safety and training of volunteers
  • Support in the delivery of visitor engagement activities
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High levels of self-motivation, drive, and enthusiasm
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual drivers' license
Working Arrangements

This position is based primarily at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and other parks and reserves. You will be required to wear a uniform and be prepared to work a (10/4) roster including weekends and public holidays.

Mandatory Requirements
