Team Overview
The Learning & Development division operates under Broker Operations, part of the expansive REA Financial Services sector, which includes Mortgage Choice, our national mortgage brokerage network. The Financial Services sector encompasses Broker Operations, Distribution, Corporate Communications & Franchise Marketing, Product, and Technology.
Mortgage Choice consists of a network of over 1,000 mortgage brokers, and the Financial Services division is tasked with enhancing, supporting, and empowering the franchise network to assist Australians with their home loan requirements.
The Learning & Development team is responsible for spearheading, executing, and refining the ongoing growth, skills, and capabilities of our franchise owners and their loan consultants, thus supporting the Financial Services division. This team delivers a cohesive learning program grounded in the principles of business success, tailored to its audience. The function plays a crucial role in onboarding new members to the network and successfully implementing new initiatives and changes across the organization.
Role Overview
As the Senior Learning and Development Specialist, you will serve as a vital strategic partner in advancing Mortgage Choice's training and development initiatives for the broker network. Utilizing your extensive expertise in learning and development, you will collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate needs, design innovative educational solutions, and deliver impactful programs that enhance franchisee performance and drive business outcomes. Within the Mortgage Choice Learning & Development Team, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing a comprehensive learning program tailored to the specific needs of our audience, grounded in the principles of business success. You will lead initiatives focused on onboarding new recruits, upskilling current brokers, executing new initiatives, and facilitating successful change across the organization, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives. As a senior member of the L&D team, you will also mentor and guide junior team members, contribute to the formulation of L&D strategies, and spearhead initiatives aimed at continuously enhancing learning practices throughout the organization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is essential; a Bachelor's degree in Adult Education, HR, Learning Sciences, Leadership and Management, or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree or certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in senior learning and development roles, demonstrating expertise in L&D strategy, program development, program management, and leadership development.
- A proven history of designing and implementing effective learning solutions that yield business results.
- Strong project management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, human-centric design, agile methodologies, and project and change management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
- Ability to cultivate relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and influence stakeholders.
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Docebo) and learning analytics tools is preferred.
