Job Title: General Manager

Brown's Mart Arts Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our team and drive the success of our organisation.

About Us

Brown's Mart is a leading performing arts organisation and venue based on Larrakia Country in Darwin. We are committed to developing and presenting new performance work by artists living and working in the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisation's strategic plan, annual artistic program, and business development activities.
  • Manage the effective recruitment and management of a team, and allocate resources to deliver the core functions of the business.
  • Oversee the financial management of the organisation, including budgeting, reporting, and fundraising.
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with government, corporate partners, supporters, and the wider community.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality artistic programs, events, and services that meet the needs of our audience and stakeholders.
  • Manage the venue, technical, and equipment operations, including compliance with regulatory obligations and maintenance of the premises.
  • Lead a strong workplace culture dedicated to excellence in the arts and role modelling Brown's Mart's values of Welcoming, Creative, Adaptive, and Excellence.
Requirements
  • High-level leadership, strategic, and management skills, including the ability to develop and evaluate strategic plans.
  • High-level financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including funding bodies, other arts organisations, and artists.
  • A successful track record in fundraising, sponsorship, and grant writing.
  • Experience in a leadership position in the arts, with knowledge of the arts and theatre in Darwin.
