**Aboriginal Senior Project Officer Role**
This position is a key opportunity to build connections and partnerships with Aboriginal People with intellectual disability in Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD).
- The role involves:
- Engaging with Aboriginal People and communities to develop and maintain networks and relationships.
- Leading and conducting research to inform culturally safe care with Aboriginal People with an intellectual disability.
- Collaborating with the Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team, Community Elders, Aboriginal Controlled Organisations and other stakeholders.
About the Team
The Specialist Intellectual Disability Health team (SIDHT) is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical, Nursing, Social Work and Administration. The team provides a tertiary level consultation service for people with an intellectual disability facing unmet health needs not met by usual care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain networks and relationships with Aboriginal People and their community in WNSWLHD.
- Lead and conduct research to evaluate existing resources that have been co-designed with Aboriginal People with intellectual disability.
- Work closely with the Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team, Community Elders, Aboriginal Controlled Organisations and other stakeholders.
