Job Title: Aboriginal Community Development Manager
Division: Northern Region
This challenging yet rewarding role will involve leading and supervising a team of Aboriginal caseworkers to improve family functioning by providing services to vulnerable children, young people, and families.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing an Aboriginal perspective and advocating on behalf of Aboriginal people in local communities;
- Improving services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children, young people, and families, with a particular focus on preservation and restoration;
- Building strong relationships with partner agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections;
- Using cultural knowledge to inform and shape service delivery;
- Empowering teams to provide for the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal children through Aboriginal consultation, family finding, genealogy, cultural planning, and other support services as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in leading and managing a team;
- Demonstrated understanding of setting up new processes and systems;
- Confirmation of Aboriginality;
- The ability to develop knowledge and links within local communities;
- A valid driver's licence;
