
Aboriginal Community Liaison Specialist

As a key member of our team, the Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist will play a vital role in keeping families together and ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to identify and address their needs. They will work collaboratively with other agencies and engage in complex problem solving to develop strategic plans and complete comprehensive risk assessments.
They will also be responsible for managing cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families, as well as participating in individual and group supervision and training sessions.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires confidence, curiosity, resilience, and effective communication skills. The successful applicant will need to be able to build positive working relationships supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills and adaptability.
Key requirements include:
- A relevant diploma or degree qualification (or at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families)
- Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively
- Valid driver's licence
- Paid working with children clearance number
- Documented verification of Aboriginality
