Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Category Business Planning: Support the development and implementation of strategic category business plans to improve Americold's competitive advantage.
  2. Spend Analysis and Optimization: Analyze current spend categories and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  3. Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and manage vendor relationships to optimize the supply base and drive business value.
  4. Sourcing and Procurement Support: Provide support to Americold's business units to implement and maintain profitable and effective sourcing programs.
  5. Process Improvement and Training: Recommend, educate, and train sourcing and procurement processes and policies with business processes and business unit associates.
  6. Reporting and Metrics: Report sourcing and category management metrics and scorecards to drive business decisions.
  7. Vendor Performance Evaluation: Evaluate vendor performance for profitability and service level standards.
  8. Market Research and Analysis: Perform market research to identify best available and relevant products and services to enhance Americold's market advantage.
  9. Industry Knowledge and Best Practices: Maintain Americold industry knowledge and incorporate best practices into business processes.
  10. Support to Senior Leadership: Provide support to the Vice President Distribution Support ANZ as required.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of business-related work experience preferred. 2+ years of work experience in procurement or category management or related environment.
  2. Subject-Matter Expertise: Subject-matter expert in relative industries such as distribution, retail, warehousing, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
  3. Category Experience: Category experience in MHE or indirect supplies and services preferred.
  4. Negotiation and E-Procurement Skills: Experience in vendor negotiations and general knowledge or experience with E-Procurement systems knowledge required.
  5. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel and PowerPoint.
  6. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel an average 25% of the time.
