Our organization is committed to delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Road Designer to be part of major infrastructure projects that support our national civil infrastructure business units. The projects involve high-speed motorways and major urban arterials and may require several design stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, resource, and complete the assigned delivery of the road design component of projects within agreed timelines and standards.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve technical road design issues with the team.
  • Lead a road design project team, including coaching and development of capabilities.
  • Assist in determining the resources required for a project plan, including elements suitable for outsourcing.
  • Ensure the production of accurate, clear, and concise project documents that meet best practice and quality standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with relevant project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
Requirements
  • A degree or qualification relevant to civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • Significant years of experience in a project delivery environment with demonstrated participation in the delivery of major road infrastructure projects, particularly roads and highways design.
  • Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design is essential, knowledge and experience in applying other state-based standards is desirable.
