Job Title: Vice President, Manufacturing Operations

About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional leader to drive our transition from a clinical-stage organization to a commercial manufacturing entity. As the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, you will be responsible for leading the manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing and supply chain teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Contribute to strategic leadership of late-stage programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in sales and operations planning (S&OP) and product development teams, representing the product development and manufacturing function.
  • Create synergy and knowledge sharing to optimize production planning processes, balancing supply/demand risks.
  • Serve as a single point of contact to manage end-to-end global supply chain and foster supplier relationships, driving excellence through metrics.
  • Develop and manage necessary tools for demand/supply planning.
  • Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and long-range planning for late-stage programs, from BLA-enabling studies to commercial launch and sustaining operations.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility for manufacturing operations, managing department budgets effectively.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose operational processes and systems to support supplier metrics and other tools, enabling continuous improvement/process excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences required, with 15+ years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of senior-level line management experience, leading other leaders.
  • Proven track record of creating business results.
  • Deep technical, operational, regulatory, strategic, and quality expertise, along with a proven track record of leading late-stage programs in innovative biotech/pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Experience with operating and navigating regulatory requirements, including authoring/reviewing BLAs and interacting with regulatory authorities.
  • Solid understanding of drug development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in development/manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies or related field preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative leadership style.
  • Leads by example, recognizing/modeling company values.
  • Learning agility: ability to seek input, make connections, recognize patterns leading to effective decision-making/action.
  • Proven ability to thoughtfully evaluate processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and successfully execute on those plans.
  • Strong communication skills (oral/written); able to interact with all levels internally/externally, tailoring communications to achieve desired results.
  • Attention to detail, ability to move between hands-on work/strategic thinking.
  • Ability to multitask/prioritize.
  • Strong leadership skills, desire to nurture/train/grow existing finance group.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence/deliver results in virtual (outsourced) environment.
