Key Responsibilities

Lead operational delivery for Australia's sovereign submarine capability, overseeing sustainment programs across conventional and nuclear domains. This role drives operational readiness, program delivery, and safety across South Australia and Western Australia.

  • Drive operational excellence at the forefront of national defence, leading teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Optimise production value streams to lift productivity, efficiency, and prepare for nuclear sustainment, ensuring compliance with SUBSAFE standards.
  • Build constructive relationships with stakeholders, industry partners, and workforce representatives to align operations with strategy and contractual deliverables.

Job Requirements

A seasoned operational leader (15+ years) is required, bringing:

  • Proven success in leading large operational teams in trade and union environments.
  • Deep knowledge of industrial relations, negotiation, and workforce engagement in trade-heavy contexts.
  • Strong understanding of WHSE and regulatory requirements in complex technical environments.
  • Experience in optimising production systems and embedding continuous improvement.
  • The ability to balance strategic foresight with hands-on leadership, engaging diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications and Certifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or management are essential; post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded. National Police Clearance and Australian Defence Security Clearance are mandatory for this role.


Location and Impact

This role provides national impact across ASC's sustainment enterprise, based in Perth.
