Electrical Expert Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Expert to join our team in maintaining one of Queensland's largest privately owned High Voltage (HV) networks.

The primary responsibility of this position involves routine maintenance of electrical equipment, breakdown works, installation/replacement of electrical equipment within switchyards and substations, problem diagnosis and predictive maintenance jobs.

You will also have a flexible attitude and sound work ethic, have excellent time management skills and the ability to achieve results within the specified time frames.

  • High voltage equipment testing and commissioning within 132kV/33kV/11kV/3.3kV reticulation systems
  • Maintenance of electrical infrastructure including: battery charges, maintenance of switchboards, power transformers, circuit breakers and other indoor/outdoor HV switchyards switchgear
  • Assisting with switching operations within the HV network
  • Maintaining the power distribution network, ensuring safe and reliable operation
  • Attending to breakdown repairs within the HV network
Key Requirements:
  • A current Electrician trade qualification with a valid Queensland Electrical license
  • A manual driver's licence
  • An understanding of Occupational Health and Safety principles
  • Experience working in the HV and mining industries
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • A flexible approach with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
