We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Trading and Procurement Specialist to join our team at Woolworths Food Company, part of the Woolworths Group. As a key member of our commodity trading team, you will be responsible for purchasing Indent Seafood commodities used in our Own & Exclusive Brand products, ensuring continuity and value across the ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commodity Trader or FMCG Procurement professional to take on a challenging role with endless career possibilities. You will be working closely with internal stakeholders to communicate commodity movements and reasons behind changes, while maintaining inclusive culture with a focus on creating genuine career opportunities.

Woolworths Food Company is a platform of businesses within Woolworths Group. We partner with dynamic suppliers to develop a range of Woolworths Own Brand and exclusive brand products that meet the ongoing and changing needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing of Indent Seafood commodities used in our Own & Exclusive Brand products
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and end users across the supply chain
  • Negotiating contracts and executing existing contracts and obligations
  • Leading quality, value, supply security sourcing requirements across the broad WoW ecosystem
  • Working in a fast agile environment to ensure connections with all internal and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring
  • Previous experience in soft Commodity Trading or FMCG Procurement of Seafood commodities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple Seafood species, trading physical species and by-products
  • Proven experience in forecasting demand and supply inventories and usage, storage
  • Product expertise in major currencies AUD/NZ/USD/EUR commodity relative value spreads execution
  • Previous experience in pricing physical markets using relative value to offshore markets and currency adjusted prices
Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum

Your total remuneration package will include a salary, superannuation and other benefits, depending on your individual circumstances.
