Young People Care Specialist

About the Role:
Our organization seeks a Youth Support Professional to provide individualized support for children and young people residing in our OOHC homes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct, person-centered support and care to young people, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting young people to develop independent living skills
- Supporting young people to achieve their goals
- Supporting young people to engage in their local communities
- Daily care and support, including assisting with household duties
- Transporting young people to and from appointments
- Supporting connection to family and culture
- Working alongside other professionals to deliver multi-disciplinary care
Requirements:
- Commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with a disability
- Understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice
- Qualifications in Community Services or related area (Cert IV)
- Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma
- Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to obtain required checks and registrations
