Overview

Yulong is seeking a passionate and motivated HR Assistant to join our team at our thoroughbred farm located in Nagambie, Victoria.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure across all aspects of HR and play a key role in supporting our people, keeping our culture strong and our company operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and team member lifecycle processes.
- Ensuring every new hire has a seamless onboarding experience.
- Managing general employee queries and providing first-level support.
- Maintaining accurate HR documentation and records.
- Drafting and posting engaging job advertisements across various platforms.
- Creating and updating job descriptions for a variety of positions.
- Management of staff accommodation, routine inspections, and ordering supplies.
- Supporting the performance review process with management.
- Managing calendars, emails, and key dates such as anniversaries, birthdays, probation reviews, and performance check-ins.
- Organising flights, accommodation, and logistics for staff, if required.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of team-building events and initiatives to support culture and morale.
- Supporting payroll processes, including timesheets and leave approvals.
- Providing administrative support for other ad-hoc HR projects.
- Handling general office tasks and occasional reception duties.

To be successful, you must demonstrate

- A qualification specific to the role along with previous experience in HR and administration.
- Understanding of HR processes, and Fair Work legislation desirable.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- A high level of discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, be approachable and professional.
- Highly organised, detail oriented and computer literate.
- An enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of, or experience in, the thoroughbred industry is highly desirable.
- You’ll be part of a supportive team where your contribution makes a real difference.
- Variety in your day, from recruitment and onboarding to organising events, and staff support.
- A competitive remuneration package will be offered, dependent on experience.
