COOKIES & CREAM PTY LTD trading as CATERING HQ ALTONA is looking for full time Chefs or Cooks for their busy restaurant.
Altona RSL, located in Altona VIC offers a welcoming bistro dining experience with a spacious, modern setting that comfortably seats around 70 guests, making it ideal for casual meals or group gatherings. The menu, crafted by contract caterers Catering HQ, features a mix of traditional favourites and contemporary dishes—ranging from hearty steaks and classic parmas to fresh salads, burgers, and pizzas. Known for their high-quality, consistent service, Catering HQ also manages the RSL’s catering for private functions and events, delivering tailored menus and seamless hospitality to suit a variety of occasions. Whether it's a relaxed lunch or a special celebration, Altona RSL’s food and service is consistently impressive.

To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
- Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
- Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques
- Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
- Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
- Stock ordering
- Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
- A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
- Immaculate presentation and grooming
- Ability to handle large service numbers
- Above average customer care and service skills
- Needs to be able to train our junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
- Assist with staff hiring and training
- Experience on pans and grill section hightail desirable
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Discuss customer requirements and request with the front of house team
