About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/Cook to join our team at the Altona Sports Club. As a casual position with a possibility to lead to full time, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment. Based in Altona, VIC 3018, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals that delight our customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and presentation standards
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to continuously improve menu items and the overall dining experience
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies
  • Support the smooth running of the kitchen during peak service periods

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Chef/Cook in a similar hospitality environment
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends
