**The Role**

NextSense has an exciting opportunity for a **Therapy Resource Librarian** to join our team at **North Rocks, **and to assist with our office relocation to** Macquarie University campus **in** **late 2023.

This is a **temporary** (12-month contract), **full-time** role, working 38 hours per week across 5 days, and which reports directly to the **Services** **Regional Manager**.

You’ll make a difference in this role by:

- Overseeing the creation of an accurate inventory of all small and large therapy resources.
- Choosing appropriate Library Management System (LMS) in consultation with senior staff and users for our relocation to Macquarie with multi campus as an option to include other sites in the future.
- Formulating an appropriate cataloguing strategy and ensuring all resources are referenced appropriately.
- Selecting appropriate storage systems in line with storage consultant report that meet the needs of the sites concerned.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and repair of the resources.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with Australian and international information and library communities, publishers, suppliers and Toy Libraries Australia.

To be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria.

Essential:

- At least 3 years library management experience or equivalent.
- Relevant experience across a broad range of library roles including reference, cataloguing, acquisitions, circulation, and website development.
- Previous experience in project management in developing a library function.
- Excellent computer skills including proficient use of MS Office software and online information resources.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the capacity to interact with a range of clients and stakeholders, face to face and via electronic communication.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Genuine interest in and capacity to develop knowledge in special education and sensory disability.
- Become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time.
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check.
- Hold a valid Criminal Record Check.

Desirable:

- Experience in the early childhood sector.
