The Custom Minting Officer is responsible for supporting customers with custom minting orders, from conception to delivery. They oversee the Royal Australian Mint’s foreign effigy brokerage service and are responsible for liaising with international distributors and banking authorities, and assessing coin designs against coin design policies.
The Custom Minting Officer is responsible for negotiating timelines and discussing technical requirements to ensure that appropriate information is exchanged with the relevant stakeholders. They undertake research and analytical work to ensure that appropriate advice relating to costing and delivery is provided to inform quotations, contracts and tender responses.
The Custom Minting Officer assists in drafting contracts, coordinating accounts and maintaining appropriate documentation relating to custom minting orders and foreign effigy brokerage services. They work under limited direction to achieve revenue targets and maintain customer satisfaction.
The duties of this position include:
- Developing and fostering relationships with external stakeholders, including international delegates, to ensure the effective provision of advice and services.
- Overseeing the foreign effigy brokerage service, including liaising with international distributors and banking authorities to achieve outcomes.
- Reviewing proposed coin designs to ensure compliance with the Mint’s coin design policies.
- Resolving customer enquiries relating to medals and medallions, foreign circulating coin and foreign effigy services.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to negotiate timelines, discuss technical requirements and ensure appropriate information is exchanged.
- Planning, scheduling, monitoring and delivering custom minting orders to agreed standards and outcomes including DIFOT (Delivered in Full and On Time).
- Preparing quotations, contracts and tender responses based on research and analysis.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation and records including business cases, project plans, risk assessments and currency determinations.
- Drafting and coordinating contracts within defined parameters and with attention to detail.
- Coordinating accounts and managing statements, payments and credits.
- Identifying and mitigating risks that impact on own and team outcomes.
- Achieving budgeted revenue targets by setting defined goals, focussing on customer service and satisfaction, and identifying new customers.
**Security clearance**
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
