The Fraud Control Officer is responsible for assisting the Agency Security Advisor in the delivery of fraud control activities, including developing fraud policies, procedures and risk assessments; and developing and delivering fraud awareness training to employees, to ensure they confidently understand and can identify instances of fraud or corruption.

The Fraud Control Officer will build relationships to support government fraud control; monitor trends across other departments and agencies; and inform policies, procedures and frameworks. They will be the central point for specialist technical advice in the Mint. The Fraud Control Officer will manage a small team, providing performance feedback and identifying development opportunities to improve individual performance, and the performance of the section.

The Fraud Control Officer will conduct investigations on fraud related matters, involving data analysis and other investigation methods to determine appropriate courses of action including escalation to the appropriate authority.

The duties of this position include:

- Monitoring, escalating and reporting on fraud control issues, including areas of non-compliance, to ensure the efficient and effective management of identified issues.
- Establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support whole-of-government fraud control and to identify and implement strategies to improve fraud control operations within the Mint.
- Monitoring fraud and corruption trends across other Australian Public Service departments and agencies to inform Mint policies and procedures.
- Creating and overseeing fraud risk assessments across the Mint.
- Providing advice to employees on fraud related matters, policy and legislation.
- Developing and delivering fraud awareness training to new and existing employees.
- Supervising a small team including providing performance feedback and supporting learning and development.
- Representing the Mint at external events, such as fraud and corruption forums.

**Security clearance**

This position requires a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

**Qualification**

Certificate IV fraud control/fraud investigation.
