The Planning and Scheduling Officer is responsible for planning the logistics operations and managing supply chains for the Mint. They ensure the constant and reliable availability of goods by making recommendations on process improvements, undertaking investigations on modern developments within the freight industry and establish linkages in customer demand, procurement processes and resources to inform forward planning.

The Planning and Scheduling Officer enhances existing freight solutions and networks by remaining current with new developments in the freight industry. They build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate, plan and schedule the shipping and delivery of goods. They create detailed forecasts of supply and demand to ensure adequate levels of inventory are maintained.
- experience in, or knowledge of resourcing materials and supply chain management
- an understanding of various software systems including Microsoft Office, MRP and ERP
- experience coordinating planning and scheduling across multiple business areas
- ability to identify emerging issues in a manufacturing environment
- excellent problem solving skills.

**The successful applicant is required to work full-time and on-site.**

The duties of this position include:
1. Scheduling and planning various work orders for manufacturing sections of the Mint.
2. Procuring various materials and product components, undertaking inventory management and planning delivery of products and components with long lead times.
3. Enhancing existing freight solutions and networks by monitoring and investigating new developments in the freight industry and determining cost effective solutions.
4. Establishing linkages between marketing demands, procurement activities and production resources to inform planning activities.
5. Managing inventory, schedules and records through the Mint’s MRP and ERP systems.
6. Creating short, medium, and long term strategies for supply chains, ensuring secure and constant availability of goods.
7. Undertaking risk assessments and ensuring section compliance with work health and safety policies and regulations.
8. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively coordinate, plan and schedule shipping and delivery of goods.
9. Creating detailed forecasts of supply and demand to ensure adequate inventory levels.
10. Coordinating planning and scheduling meetings and providing secretariat support.

**Security clearance**
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
