**About the Role**:
The Koorie Student Communications Officer is responsible for the development and delivery of a communication strategy for the Koorie Service Center (KSC) through a range of written, media and digital platforms. The aim of this role is to work with Koorie Students to amplify the “student voice” across Melbourne Polytechnic. Further, this role will promote the work of the KSC and Melbourne Polytechnic to the broader community through media and digital platforms.

**Duties**:

- Create, post and maintain the content for student and staff portals, and social media channels (Facebook, Youtube, etc.) that highlight the Koorie Learner experience at MP.
- Promote the KSC across Melbourne Polytechnic and the broader community, including organisations that work on a Reconciliation Action Plan.
- Develop, schedule and deliver content (including video, photography and written materials) that highlights the Koorie Learner experience at MP.
- Support other student focused events at MP where required.
- Support the administration functions of the KSC.
- Work with the KSC team to obtain feedback from students to focus on continuous improvement.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Relevant qualifications, or equivalent relevant experience in communications, marketing or creative industries.
- Demonstrated experience in creating material using the Adobe suite of programs (Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign and Premiere Pro).
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how to create content that promotes the KSC.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, along with a demonstrated commitment to effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, the ability to be proactive, successfully arrange priorities, meet deadlines, be self-motivated and flexible in responding to changing work priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee).
