Manager, Petroleum Licensing

**Salary**: $129,379 to $173,138 + super.
**Position No**: 035400
**Please note**: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the robust and efficient delivery of Earth Resources Regulation's Petroleum Licensing Services function for the onshore and offshore petroleum, greenhouse gas storage and geothermal energy industries in accordance with the relevant legislation, operational policies and procedures.
- Manage and motivate team members for their training, performance and career development, including developing team members' capabilities to resolve complex issues through a process of consultation and negotiation. Foster a positive team culture.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate expertise and experience in interpreting complex legislative and policy frameworks for regulating natural resources or heavy industries, along with leadership skills with proven ability to collaborate with peers and senior managers. If you possess excellent communication skills as well as advanced verbal communication skills, then this could be the position for you.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in law, public administration, business management, natural resource management or a cognate discipline is mandatory.
This is a fixed term position available until 31 December 2023. The work location for this position is Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements available.
