The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Licensing Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria. The LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).
About the role
Reporting to a Manager in the Authority's Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement Division (Division), the Principal Compliance Officer will lead small teams to implement elements of the Authority's Compliance Program, with a specific focus on high-risk industries and harms. They will further lead field operations and investigations into complex matters; provide operational leadership, support and expert advice to a small team; and engage with a variety of stakeholders to educate and influence compliance.
The Division promotes, monitors, investigates and enforces compliance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) and a broad range of relevant laws. The Division undertakes compliance and enforcement activities in relation to labour hire licence applicants, licence holders, unlicensed providers and hosts both proactively and in response to complaints and intelligence that we receive from the public and other regulators.

**The objectives of the scheme are to**:

- provide protection for vulnerable workers against exploitation by providers of labour hire services and host employers; and
- improve transparency and integrity of the labour hire industry.
