**Your new role**:
The First Nations Project Officer role is responsible for leading and delivering key internal projects in the First Nations portfolio to promote and support Council’s commitment to empowerment of First Nations people. The role will be responsible for strengthening relationships between Council staff and the First Nation community to enable us to work together to grow cultural safety for our current and future workforce, and engage with Indigenous businesses to drive procurement opportunities.

This is a part time temporary role.6 EFT 3 days per week until 30 December 2023 position at the Knox Civic Centre with a range of flexible work options.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $92,933 - $ 101, 496 (pro rata and depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

**What you will need to thrive**:
The key selection criteria for this role are:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of First Nations communities and diverse cultures.
- Experience in building organisational capability to foster a supportive and culturally inclusive environment to increase the First Nations workforce and Indigenous business engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams across an organisation.
- Proven experience and skills in building successful relationships with internal and community stakeholders.
- Proven experience in all aspects of project management including planning, risk, timelines and task management.
- Excellent interpersonal, report writing, computer and oral communication skills.
