**Your new role**:
We have an exciting temporary opportunity (secondment backfill) for a project/program manager to join the waste management team at Knox. Reporting to the Coordinator Waste management services, you will lead the implementation of kerbside reforms within Knox City Council including the rollout of new bin lid colours and the consideration, planning, consultation for provision of a glass collection service.

Working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, the role's key responsibilities will include the planning, monitoring, risk management and delivery of the kerbside reform project, the negotiation of required changes to current contracts and procurement of new contracts to deliver innovative future service solutions for waste management. The role will also liaise closely with waste education, communication and internal teams within Knox to support the community through the changes which are crucial to a successful implementation.

As a Band 7 classified role, remuneration will be $104,630.20 - $117,345.47 (depending on experience) plus 10% superannuation.

**What you will need to thrive**
- Demonstrated program and project management skills with proven experience in program and or project design and delivery
- Demonstrated ability to consult and engage with the public, key stakeholders (both internal and external) and various external providers.
- Ability to analyse problems and make informed decisions on a day to day basis
- Sound financial and budgetary skills and strong contract management.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills involving effective communication both verbally and in writing with all levels of management, staff, contractors, organizations and individuals affected by Council's projects
- A relevant tertiary qualification (or experience at a local government level) in waste management, environmental sustainability or engineering would be an advantage
- Excellent written communication skills for the preparation of reports, correspondence and contract documents
