**Job Duties/Essential Functions**:

- Promotes work health and safety within the organization
- Inspects workplace and equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations
- Identifies hazards and assesses risks to health and safety
- Ensures workplace conforms with organizational procedures and safety standards
- Ensures personal protective equipment (PPE) are being used in workplaces according to regulations
- Ensures dangerous materials are correctly stored
- Conducts safety steel checks, fire extinguishers, hose reels, first aid kits
- Ensures that the organization is aware of, and complies with all the legislation relating to its duty of care, workplace activities and the use of its plant and equipment
- Records and reports hazards, incidents and accidents, injuries and health issues within the workplace
- Assists with the investigation of incidents and unsafe working conditions, and recommends remedial actions
- Conducts training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on health and safety practices and legislation
- Assists with the return to work of employees on workers comp
- Coordinates emergency procedures, fire wardens and first aid officers
- Communicates frequently with management to report on the status of WH&S programs
- Must display high level of safety and professional work standards
- Minimum 2 years of Work Health & Safety and Return to Work coordination experience

**Non Essential Functions**:

- Assists in other departments when necessary

**Qualifications**:

- Education/Training: Degree or Diploma
- Licence/Certification: Advanced RTW Certificate, First Aid Cert, Food Safety Supervisor, Forklift Licence is an advantage
- Knowledge/Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel, Google Suites

**Other Specific Requirements**:

- Must be flexible to work in split shifts and rotating roster, and possibly Saturday
