Eden Ritchie is seeking a Policy Specialist to provide advanced policy related capability, including in the drafting of high-level briefing material and submissions, to assist in the delivery of a complex and time critical program of work related to the regulation of the specific industry in Queensland.

**As the Policy Specialist, your key responsibilities will include**:

- Prepare high level briefing notes and related material on significant issues of a confidential and sensitive nature to senior departmental executives
- Lead drafting of Cabinet submissions and Executive Council documents and associated processes, under tight deadlines
- Establish and foster stakeholder relationships within the Department and other government agencies
- Identify risks and issues and report progress to senior departmental executives
- Undertake tasks of a complex and confidential nature, as directed by the General Manager and other executive team members

**Requirements / Skills**:

- Demonstrated policy development experience, ideally in the public sector
- Demonstrated advanced skills in drafting briefing material and submissions, including cabinet submissions, regarding complex matters
- Strong interpersonal and consultation skills, in the context of a complex policy environment
- Ability to make considered judgements, managing associated risks and issues, including escalating where required
