**Job Description**:

Warning This role is not for the meek - it requires a truly passionate individual, with enough prior experience to take on this hotel's meeting and events portfolio with fervour and hit the ground running. Every day will be remarkable for the Meeting and Events Manager, leading a team of Executives and assisting the Director of Sales with the overall function of the Meeting and Events team to maximise performance, drive profitability and finesse functions to achieve continuous improvement. This key position is the conduit responsible for the management of events - receiving handover from Sales, passing to operations and finalising post event requirements.
**What you will be doing**:
- Lead a team to perform the end-to-end coordination of the hotel's meetings and events
- Assist the Director of Sales to maximise revenue for meeting and events profitability, and to drive new improvements
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, Director of Revenue and Sales team to achieve revenue targets
- Be ultimately responsible for the management of events from handover from Sales to execution
- Represent a luxury product and communicate and liaise at all levels, ensuring guest expectations are exceeded
- Instill guest focused and performance driven culture among the Meeting and Events team
- Be the face of Sofitel Brisbane Central, representing a five-star luxury brand.
**Qualifications**:
The Manager of Meetings and Events is professional and knowledgeable about the brand, the local area and the luxury experience, is extremely well connected, and builds strong relationships and bonds with clients.
**Your experience and skills include**:
- Minimum five years’ experience in event management in a luxury brand
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales or Event Management (desirable)
- Experience in leading others and developing a high performing team
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed
- Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Guest focused and committed to providing exceptional service at all times
- Highly responsible and reliable, achieving tasks efficiently, accurately and promptly
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding personal presentation and style, aligned with the Sofitel luxury brand.
