**Your Role**
The BI & Reporting Analyst will satisfy the reporting and analysis needs of Australian Military Bank’s stakeholders, including Regulatory bodies, contractual partners, internal operational teams, Executives and customers.
You will use your knowledge of analytical methods and data visualisation tools to convert ad hoc and ongoing reporting into digestible and actionable insights for business users. You will work with Managers from various business units to understand requirements, then you will find and test appropriate data sources, create reports/analysis or communicate the requirements to the data engineer and then test the output, and distribute reports & visualisations (automating where possible).
**Responsibility Areas**
- Manage the regular delivery and any required modifications to regulatory reports within SLAs.
- Engage with stakeholders to fully understand the business problems to be solved.
- Interrogate the business systems and databases to identify appropriate data sources, then extract and analyse data to answer the business questions.
- Using your experience with SQL and Data Visualisation programs, create and distribute operational reports and dashboards.
- Identify & investigate anomalies to ensure data is accurate and suitable for purpose. Co-ordinate data cleansing actions as required.
- Make recommendations for obtaining additional data sources or implementing controls in systems to improve data accuracy.
- Perform analysis and remediation calculations for any customer-impacting errors relating to mortgages, unsecured loans, savings, deposits, credit cards
- Maintain and improve on existing data warehouse. Document the data sources being used and identify any additional data needed based on stakeholder requirements.
- Work closely with the Data Governance team and Data Engineer to ensure that data integrity and availability is always maintained.
- Provide support and coverage for the Senior BI Analyst, Data Analyst and Data Engineer as needed (where applicable).
- Ad hoc tasks and involvement in projects as required from time to time.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- High level skills with reporting tools and languages - Advanced SQL and Excel required. Power BI/Qlik Sense/ R /VBA highly desired
- Knowledge of banking operations, banking products and reporting analytics
- Knowledge of the financial service’s regulatory environment (eg APRA, AUSTRAC regulations)
- Attention to detail
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to understand stakeholder requests, translate business requirements into technical requirements, and explain/present results clearly

**Previous Experience**
- 5 years’ experience as a BI analyst in Banking/ Financial Services is highly desired
- Knowledge of the military could be advantageous.

**Qualifications**
Essential: Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline - Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics
**Probity check**
