**About the Opportunity**:
eBay is seeking an up-and-coming communications getter for the role of Communications Manager, eBay Australia & New Zealand.

This role addresses the important need for eBay to build, enhance, and protect eBay’s reputation with essential communications programs to customers, media, internal, and other partners.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Consumer Communications**
- Manage the day-to-day implementation of consumer and brand PR campaigns
- Manage and direct external agencies to support this activity
- Develop strong working relationships with marketing and other relevant eBay teams to harness support for maximising PR opportunities and assist with the internal education of PR
- Identify news and trends to generate media and consumer interest
- Both be a spokesperson and also train and brief other spokespeople prior to media interviews and provide feedback on conclusion
- On a daily basis, have a feel for all topical news to source relevant promotions to capitalise on issues within the media
- Handle day-to-day media inquiries promptly, involving and managing external agencies when appropriate
- Network and build media contacts
- Build a database of interesting eBay member profiles; interview members for media suitability
- Liaise and support international eBay colleagues with global PR standard process

**Corporate Communications**:

- Day-to-day media and external relations
- Strategic campaigns to change perceptions and win support for eBay’s position on industry-specific issues
- Keep up-to-date records of company facts for use by all departments
- Provide clear direction, priorities and needed resources to the agencies on a day-to-day basis
- Develop an excellent knowledge of eBay’s products and the potential impact of site changes on its users
- Develop critical communications (incorporating user consultation) in conjunction with Seller, Buyer and Product teams that inform and educate users when site changes are made
- Manage external monitoring and analysis agencies to understand media opinions of eBay and effectiveness of PR programs
- Respond to general and issues-based media enquiries promptly and within deadline, working with key internal partners

**Internal Communications**
- Create and implement internal communication plans that align with the eBay AU’s goals and objectives as directed by Head of Communications
- Produce and manage engaging content for various internal channels, ensuring consistency in messaging and tone
- Collaborate with leadership and departments to gather information
- Design initiatives to enhance employee engagement and establish mechanisms for collecting and addressing employee feedback.
- Support employee communications programs that increase employee engagement and business strategy understanding.

**Relevant Experience**
- 6+ years in a Corporate Communications, Public Relations or Media role with either an agency or corporate
- Successful track record in developing, implementing and analysing consumer communications plans
- Proven ability to think and act across all communications channels
- Successful track record in working closely with a team, but also managing own time and workload
- Effective and disciplined project management skills across a large number of tasks and able to coordinate input from multiple parties
- Drive for results and success across all areas of responsibility

**Relevant Skills & Education**
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
- Excellent editing and writing skills that can be adapted for a multitude of communications channels (consumer, vertical, social, radio etc.)
- Degree qualified: Communications, Journalism, Marketing
- Well-developed verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with plenty of initiative, drive and energy
- Possess up-to-date knowledge in the profession and industry
