**About the team**:
The Strategic Policy Division is foundational to the department’s role in providing influential and valued advice to the Government and formulating policy approaches for a more productive, resilient and sustainable economy that is enriched by science and technology.

The division provides strategic advice to ministers, the departmental executive and policy partners to support the delivery of priorities for the portfolio as a whole. Responsibilities include:

- driving the portfolio’s Budget strategy and processes
- undertaking key strategic projects and building policy capability across the department
- providing an influential voice on whole-of-government matters to inform the portfolio’s current and future direction.

**The opportunity**:
There are opportunities in multiple teams within the division.
- The **Whole of Government **teams lead the department’s engagement and coordination of priority cross-cutting issues, including gender equality, First Nations, youth, jobs and skills and emergency management.
- The Portfolio Priorities team leads work requiring a portfolio-wide perspective, including planning, setting and communicating a portfolio narrative.
- The **Budget Policy **team coordinates, advises on and collaborates across the department and wider APS to deliver the Commonwealth Budget for the Industry, Science and Resources portfolio.
- The **Priority Projects **team manages the department’s rapid response framework for critical issues and the strategic policy forum, and works collaboratively to develop tools and capability to support issues management.
- The **Secretariat and Portfolio Appointments Advice **team provides corporate governance, secretariat and strategic oversight support for Executive Board (EB) and its sub committees. The team also provide advice on the end-to-end Ministerial appointment processes.
