As one of Western Australia's premier racing venues, we host a diverse calendar of 25 events (including 9 weekend meetings), with Xmas and New Year an extremely busy period, between November and August and are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our members, industry participants, guests, and the local community.
About The RolePinjarra Race Club Inc. is looking for a highly capable Office Administrator and Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time role is based in Pinjarra, Western Australia, and will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of race days and financial operations of our thriving racecourse.
What You'll Be Doing- Oversee financial activity, including payroll, accounts payable and receivables, budgeting, and financial reporting. Liaising with the Clubs Auditor as required.
- With advice and guidance from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), oversee the race day operations with appropriate delegation to an Office Assistant, coordinate casual staff, contractors and area managers, facilities, and logistics to deliver seamless race day events that can see up to 5000 patrons in attendance
- Provide detailed MYOB financial reports to the CEO and the Committee to support decision-making and growth initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant book-keeping standards, Fair Work awards, GST reporting requirements, Associations Incorporation Act and Racing WA industry regulations
- Supervise, delegate as necessary and mentor the Office Assistant, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies.
- Proven experience as an Office Administrator/Senior Bookkeeper utilising MYOB, ideally within the sports or hospitality industry.
- Strong financial administrative skills, including bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Excellent organizational capabilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team, with assistance from the office assistant, of casual race day staff with familiarity of the various awards and their obligations.
- A working knowledge of relevant bookkeeping standards (MYOB), GST Reporting, and industry regulations.
- Passion for the racing/event industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences with full availability paramount thru the festive season all the way thru to September.
