Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager of People and Culture and with one direct report into this role, our Safety Manager is considered key in engaging and supporting a safe work culture across our business. What You Do

  • Lead and encourage a safety mindset across the business
  • Work closely with all team members and leaders in driving safety results
  • Support the business with internal and external audits.
  • Focus on Work safe, home safe methodology and continually encourage and strategise re safe work messaging and programs.
  • Investigate incidents and workplace injuries
  • Work closely with HR team in providing advice on injury management best practice and procedures
  • Develop and share reporting functions to assist managers in ensuring key safety factors are a priority within teams
  • Champion the cloud-based safety systems and apply continued optimisation
  • Maintain a level of understanding of relevant legislation in the safety space, including State and National
  • Respond to and manage WC cases with the support of site RTW coordinators

A great fit for this important role would be
  • A minimum of 3+ years' experience in a safety leadership role and the desire to support and develop others in the safety space
  • Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and liaising with multiple leaders and team members
  • A high level of knowledge of business frameworks and supporting systems in safety
  • A high level of knowledge of safety and WC legislation
  • Prior experience in safety reporting, including building reports and presenting analytics to team members and managers.
  • Gap analysis strategy experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate and influence all key stakeholders.
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in safety
  • The ability to occasionally travel
