About the role
This position reports to the Product Program Director and is based at Murarrie, Brisbane.
The successful candidate will work within Tritium's cross-functional teams and will be responsible for driving strategic supply chain optimization across new product development and existing product lines, ensuring seamless integration between suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing operations.
The role requires a strong background in electronics and electro-mechanical supply chain management and procurement within an engineering/manufacturing environment, and the ability to navigate complex global supplier relationships while supporting Tritium's rapid growth and innovation objectives.
As Strategic Supply Chain Manager you will be the key point of contact for suppliers engaged in Tritium's new product development programs and ongoing supply chain optimisation. You will work within Tritium's cross-functional teams to seek out, integrate, and build strong effective relationships with key suppliers across our global operations. This position will be the main supplier liaison for new products and selective existing products undergoing design changes or requiring supply chain support. Actively engaging with Tritium's engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams, you will facilitate early supplier involvement during new product introduction, identify relevant supplier innovation and strategic procurement opportunities to support lower total cost realization and improved supply chain resilience.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Proactively engage as the strategic interface between suppliers and internal teams to determine new and alternate sources for technology, components, and services across Tritium's product portfolio.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of supplier technology roadmaps and product pipelines, proactively identifying opportunities for engineering teams and facilitating direct communication between subject matter experts.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing coordination and processes for new product development including leading supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness initiatives.
• Act as the primary owner of the shared procurement tracker, ensuring timely updates and accurate records of order status, lead times, quotes, delivery dates, tooling requirements, and cost approvals.
• Liaise directly with the Brisbane-based engineering team and the global supply chain team in India to ensure accurate and timely ordering of both standard catalogue and custom-designed parts.
• Facilitate the preparation, review, and version control of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs), and ensure alignment with procurement data tracking.
• Lead development and maintenance of supplier performance management systems, including scorecards, evaluation frameworks, and continuous improvement programs.
• Research and evaluate global supply sources to ensure competitive pricing and adequate production capacity, developing market intelligence and "should cost" analysis for key commodity items.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain and legal functions to develop and implement strategies that improve supplier productivity, quality, and supply chain continuity.
• Support the global supply chain team in supplier negotiations on lead-time, cost, and quality parameters to maximize company benefit and competitive advantage.
• Manage supplier performance against objectives related to cost, delivery, schedule, and quality across both new and existing product lines.
• Develop innovative procurement and sourcing strategies based on portfolio analysis, market dynamics, and supplier preferencing studies.
• Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using comprehensive market and competitive intelligence.
• Continuously review and optimize supplier base to ensure alignment with evolving sourcing strategy and business requirements.
• Report on sourcing performance metrics and transition management responsibilities to commodity leads as products mature.
• Escalate procurement risks, cost deviations, or supplier performance issues to the product program director and support resolution efforts to meet project milestones.
• Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance across all procurement transactions and supplier relationships.
• Implement advanced supplier management methodologies and procurement strategies to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
• Share knowledge and best practices with broader team on effective procurement processes, strategy development, and supplier management.
