We are seeking a hands-on, energetic, and experienced on-site motel management couple to oversee the operation of a 20-room motel on the northside of Brisbane. The successful couple will enjoy this role and the variety it offers. They will work autonomously and take ownership of the business.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage employee performance, coordinate recruitment, induction, training, and development of housekeeping staff.
  • Oversee daily operations, including front office and housekeeping.
  • Provide support and training on motel standards, policies, procedures, operational requirements, and business objectives.
  • Manage the motel's performance to meet and exceed budgetary goals.
  • Proactively seek sales and marketing opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous business improvement.
  • Manage and resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor statutory and maintenance activities across all motel functions.
  • Assist in managing compliance with WH&S, licensing, fire regulations, and essential services.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong background in hospitality operations, staff roster management, and cost control.
  • Previous management experience in a mid-sized motel is essential.
  • Hands-on leadership experience, actively setting the culture.
  • Extensive knowledge of booking management software.
  • Good understanding of housekeeping operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport-building ability.
  • Driver's license required.
  • Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to live onsite.

Opportunity to customize the role to suit the couple's needs and work-life balance, with flexible rosters such as 3-4 weeks on and 1 week off or 2 weeks on and a few days off. The position involves minimal Food & Beverage responsibilities, with no onsite restaurant. The role includes provided onsite 2-bedroom residence. Candidates can be engaged on an ABN contract or salary, with remuneration to be negotiated. Start date is August-September 2025.
