Southern Cross Motel Group is actively seeking experienced professional Permanent Motel Management Teams with a strong focus on Buddy Boy Kitchen & Conferencing for their expanding portfolio in Mackay, Bundaberg, Cloncurry, and Parkes NSW. Every 8 weeks, our Managers receive 12 RDOs, a great home, utilities, meals, and a competitive salary.

The Role:

Take full management responsibility for busy motels with themed food & beverage venues. We pride ourselves on quality accommodations and food & beverage services. The manager's role is to build a strong, effective team/culture, maximize profitability, and deliver an enhanced guest experience with superior customer service.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations across departments including Front Office, Reception, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Grounds, and Maintenance.
  • Lead by example and be hands-on.
  • Provide effective leadership, guidance, and communication.
  • Support and train staff on standards, policies, procedures, operational requirements, and business objectives.
  • Manage the motel's performance to meet and exceed budgetary goals.
  • Seek sales and marketing opportunities proactively.
  • Focus on continuous business development in Food & Beverage through proactive selling and social media.
  • Manage employee performance, recruitment, induction, training, and development.
  • Address guest services promptly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets weekly and monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including WH&S, liquor and food licensing, and fire safety.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Approved Manager of a Licensed Venue.
  • Experience with Room Sales and Online Channel Booking Management (Guestpoint & Siteminder).
  • Experience with Opentable/Kounta and TANDA.
  • Good understanding of Housekeeping operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport-building ability.
  • Passionate, motivated, and willing to relocate and live onsite.
  • Knowledge of roster management with regular scheduled RDOs.
  • Part of a growing business with onsite accommodation, meals, utilities included, and a travel allowance.
