Overview

Program Coordinator - Head of Learning Community is a permanent full-time position at the Department of Education, Western Australia, based at Shenton College. The role is commencing Term 1, 2026.

The school serves a Middle School (Years 7-8) and Senior School (Years 9-12) with a range of programs including Gifted and Talented Education (GATE).

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and visionary leadership to the Middle School, driving initiatives that align with the school's business planning.
  • Mentor and empower high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment to achieve outstanding educational outcomes.
  • Possibly oversee a specific learning area within the Middle School and contribute to the overall vision and direction of Shenton College.
  • Support the development of engaging, holistic learning experiences for younger adolescents and ensure teaching practices are fun, purposeful, and relevant.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
