Overview

Program Coordinator - PEAC, fixed term, full-time. The role commences January 2026 and continues until January 2027. Based with the Department of Education, Western Australia, North Metropolitan region, supporting the North Metro PEAC program for gifted and talented students (Years 5-6) and Early Years Extension (Year 1-3) across eight sites.

Responsibilities
  • Provide educational leadership to the PEAC team (teaching and support staff) in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Education.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan with targets related to student achievement and the associated priorities and strategies to achieve them.
  • Lead the teaching and learning program for the region's gifted and talented students in alignment with the Western Australian Curriculum general capabilities.
  • Manage staff performance and development in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Departmental policy.

Eligibility and Requirements
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
  • Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
