Founded in 1955, Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is located 5 kilometres from the Perth CBD. It comprises three sub-schools; Years 7 & 8, Years 9 & 10 and Years 11 & 12. It hosts a Gifted and Talented Languages program, a Specialist Visual and Performing Arts program, a Music program and the innovative Aboriginal Excellence Program. The RoleMount Lawley SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic leader to join the leadership team as Program Coordinator - Technologies. As a key member of the Schools Leadership Team, it is desirable that the successful applicant will have had recent experience leading a Technologies team. You would provide curriculum leadership in Technologies and work in collaboration with fellow Program Coordinators and School Administrators to implement the Western Australian Curriculum. The successful applicant should ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and provide professional leadership to teachers and other staff members in curriculum matters.
The successful applicant should ideally have experience and success with teaching Technology subjects (Design and Technology, Home Economics or Computing). The ability to analyse student performance data and use this in planning is highly desirable. The Program Coordinator would be responsible for the annual reflection, review and operational planning cycle. They would also lead the Professional Learning Community across their learning area. There is an expectation that staff engage in reflective practice, informed by a close examination of student performance data and respond with relevant improvement plans.
The successful applicant will ideally embrace a personal commitment to the values of the school: excellence, respect, perseverance and learning. Additionally, the successful applicant should embrace the school's Pedagogical Framework (attached) and the associated program of improving teaching, including peer observation. They should ideally work collaboratively with their peers and within their various teams as part of a professional learning community.
