The Medical Operations Coordinator is responsible for the creation and delivery of a highly functioning first aid and paramedic event service.

About the role

This role is responsible for ensuring all first aid and paramedic services and event targets that are outlined in the contracts we have with our client partners, are met, or exceeded. This role also provides operational oversight and support to the Australian Event Safety Service (AESS).

Some of the key duties will include:

  • Build and maintain a professional and proficient paramedic and first aid events team.
  • Assist to develop and maintain all requirements relevant to the successful delivery of medical event safety services.
  • Assist and drive new business generation.
  • Identify hazards and minimise risks that might compromise the safety of your team.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting, including database management.
  • Assist with monthly media releases.
  • Assist with the annual recruitment, credentialling and induction of casual and seasonal first aid staff.
  • Collate timesheet and payroll information.
  • Staff rostering.

What you'll need

  • Substantial experience and technical knowledge of first aid, paramedic or similar public safety roles.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills and a proven ability in determining priorities, making sound judgements, coordinating activities and meeting deadlines.
  • Sound experience in event delivery and project plan delivery.
  • People-management skills with proven ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Surf Life Saving's policies, procedures and practices, and its education system.
  • Proficient MS Office experience and knowledge of database management.
  • A current unrestricted Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to undertake daily travel to various locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and Public Holidays when required.
