YOUR ROLE

As the Internal Controls Analyst, your primary responsibility is to support the BA APAC Internal Controls Lead in implementing the Internal Controls Essential Program, ensuring readiness for compliance with the new UK Controls Act. YOUR ROLE

  • Maintain the Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM), conduct controls testing, and coordinate controls self-assessment.
  • Maintain finance-related policies and procedures in line with controls objectives in the Bunzl Controls Framework, ensuring consistent application across business units (BUs).
  • Support training and development activities for BU IC process owners, especially during the rollout of new control requirements and PLC requests.
  • Aid BUs in preparing for audits, such as performing pre-audit checks on critical controls scoped for external audit and common audit findings.
  • Coordinate Group risk and compliance reporting requests.
  • Support the roll-out of Governance Risk and Compliance and Microsoft 365 systems and applications.
  • Monitor and proactively follow up with BU Management on the progress of agreed actions for control gaps, ensuring timely remediation. Provide guidance and hands-on support when necessary.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this role, you should possess or be in the process of achieving relevant professional qualifications in Australia such as CA, CPA, or CIA, with a business degree or undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.

  • Relevant tertiary degree in Accounting & Finance, IT or Digitalisation.
  • Part completed or ready to commence your Chartered Accountant qualification (or CPA)
  • 3 to 4 years in a similar role and organisation. Big4 first mover in risk & audit/finance governance, Sox controls compliance equivalent exposure.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound technical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationship.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset, self-reliance, and a focus on results.
  • Autonomy in structuring time and tasks to achieve outcomes is key, as is a willingness to help and guide others to address any policy and controls questions.
