About the team

The Operations & Passenger Delivery team is committed to keeping Melbourne moving by delivering exceptional passenger experiences through, on time, reliable, safe and efficient services.

About the role
An opportunity for an experienced and strategic Timetable Development Manager has arisen within our Strategy, Timetabling and Planning team.

Reporting to the Head of Standard Working Timetable Development, you will manage the development and delivery of operationalized concept Standard Working (Master) Timetables associated with future state changes to the network and to support operational feasibility and resource and cost assessment activities.


You will also be responsible for:

Managing the delivery of fully operationalized new and adjusted published Standard Working (Master) Timetables and network Geographies, including management of associated team resources, as assigned by the Head of Standard Working Timetable Development.

Contributing to the long-term timetable plan, incorporating large-scale projects impacting the network.
Coordinating the management, and incorporation into the timetable, of feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

Contributing to the development and management of MTM's operational workforce plan, ensuring that ongoing timetable development and operational strategy is consistent with MTM's strategic vision.

Managing the development and production of new Standard Working (Master) Timetables in a manner consistent with MTM's strategic, operational and safety objectives.

Ensuring Timetables balance financial, contractual, operational, and human resource considerations.
Supporting the Head of Standard Working Timetable Development to identify and implement process efficiencies and improvements.

About you

Significant experience and knowledge of timetable and scheduling procedures and broad understanding, across multiple operational aspects of the rail network, with expertise in Timetabling is core to your success in this role.


You will also need to demonstrate the following:
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box to produce creative solutions
Strong stakeholder management experience, including influencing outcomes
People leadership experience, with a track record of leading high-performance teams and building capability

Ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders, in order to achieve outcomes which benefit our passengers and teams.
