About the Project

About the Role


The Precincts Group is responsible for the creation and delivery of large-scale urban redevelopment projects across Victoria including Arden, Fishermans Bend, Fitzroy Gasworks, Docklands, Revitalising Central Dandenong and Junction Place Wodonga.


As a Development Manager within the growing Arden team you will be responsible for assisting a team of industry professionals within planning, design, environmental management workstreams ensuring policy outcomes are achieved through financially viable projects.


This role will work closely with the Senior Development Manager and other workstream leads, internal advisory teams and in partnership with the Department of Transport and Planning.

As a Development Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a range of internal teams and external stakeholders including in-house specialist advisors, consultants, State and Local Government departments and authorities, utility providers and communities to generate successful results.
  • Preparing accurate and effective correspondence, presentations, briefs, and reports including management of internal reporting and approval processes.
  • Preparing, maintaining and monitoring project programs to meet the project objectives.
  • Coordinating and directing internal and external project inputs including planning, design, marketing and sales, and settlement plans for allocated projects.
  • Utilising DV internal project costing and cashflow management reporting systems and oversee their effective implementation to monitor delivery of projects against agreed budgets and performance targets.
  • Working with graduates and junior staff members to provide a supportive, collaborative environment to grow skillsets and encourage career development.

Desired Skills and Experience:

About You

Ideally you will have:

  • Minimum 4 years' industry experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in property development, construction / project management, finance or economics related discipline, or life experience demonstrating transferrable skills for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in and / or exposure to all stages of the development lifecycle: due diligence, acquisition, feasibility, design, marketing, construction and handover.
  • Demonstrated experience managing consultants and working with external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude consistent with developing and maintain relationships across internal and external teams required to achieve project results.
  • The ability to work across multidisciplinary project activities.
  • The ability to adapt to changing project requirements and be comfortable with change.
