About You


The role utilises RMIT's timetabling system, in the setup, design, and maintenance of the University's timetable function in a highly complex and sophisticated processes.


The position is required to provide courteous and helpful support, working closely with key stakeholders within Schools and Colleges for the collection and maintenance of timetable requirements.

The role will be required to provide guidance and recommendations in achieving successful timetable delivery in course creation and program structures that best aligns to successful timetabling outputs.


The position will be required to run, manipulate and summarise timetable data outputs with recommendations that can be used to inform university decision making.


The role is expected to follow and adhere to policy and procedures but with the latitude to develop or redefine procedure and interpret policy so long as other work areas are not affected.


During key periods, this role will be required to liaise directly with students, providing assistance in timetable allocation and addressing timetable issues that arise.


The position will also undertake configuration and monitoring of the student allocation system including reporting and liaison with students and stakeholders to ensure planned and actual enrolment is accommodated.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated commitment to client focussed service with an ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals, using well developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, work to conflicting timelines and deadlines under pressure and make informed decisions with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures, providing clear and consistent advice to clients.
  • Evidence of the capability to effectively work in teams, to ensure participation within a positive and cooperative team of staff to achieve successful timetable outcomes, continuous improvement objective and excellence in client service.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, with ability to determine requirements, analyse and evaluate, and formulate responses.
  • As part of our ISO9001 accreditation continually review and update PSG processes to ensure they are working effectively and delivering a satisfactory service to our clients and identifying opportunities for improvement.
About the Portfolio


Property Services has approximately 110 staff and has responsibility for the operation, maintenance, utilisation and enhancement of buildings owned and leased by RMIT University.

Property Services oversees construction projects and ensures the provision of physical facilities services. The Group has an operating budget of in excess of $58M and current capital projects are significant. RMIT's built environment involves approximately 131 buildings spread across all of RMIT's campuses and sites.

The capital stock of the University is diverse and valued at approximately $2 billion and includes heritage and other classifications.
