Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Transition Team Leader.

This is a long-term contract for 12 months with 2x12 months potential extensions, located in Canberra. Preference is for successful applicants to work from the Canberra office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Remote/flexible work arrangements can be discussed with the specified personnel's manager upon commencement, and a Working from Home Agreement must be formalised.


  • Manage and coordinate the transition of IT services to minimize disruption to Department operations.
  • Work closely with the EL2 Director to ensure appropriate levels of engagement are undertaken with transition activities.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the transition and deliverables are met in alignment with the contract.
  • Review procurement and contract documentation to ensure vendor compliance with scope, deliverables, standards, timeframes, and costs.
  • Engage with Senior Executives and relevant departmental specialists to seek dispute resolution guidance, implement mitigation strategies for risks and issues, and escalate when appropriate.
To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Significant experience in the transition of large and complex IT services across multiple vendors.
  • Strong ICT technical background in the delivery of ICT services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • The ability to clearly articulate requirements, expectations, and outcomes.
  • The ability to present information and communicate expectations across conflicting priorities/workloads.
  • Demonstrated effective and proactive risk and issue management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and track progress of various activities within agreed timelines.
