The Transition Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the Work packages covering the JIC System, Common Item TDL Procurement and AUSINT capabilities.

This includes working closely with current Sustainment and Acquisition organisations to ensure current capability is maintained during the Transition and enabling coordination with Industry for the replacement capabilities.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transition of ICSI into the JIC System
  • Manage the transition of Common Item TDL Procurement
  • Manage the transition of AUSTIN capability
  • Maintenance of the Transition schedule
  • Facilitate an effective interface between Industry Acquisition under a ASDEFCON Contract to Sustainment stakeholders
  • Provide interface to FIC coordination and development
  • Facilitate Defence procurement and Survey and Quotes for the capabilities
  • Provide advice to Work packages on CDRL Data Items and contractor deliverables relating to Transition and Support
  • Provide advice and assistance on JC2SPO and JP9347 Disposal planning
  • Provide input to configuration management of the Systems

Required Attitudes / Behaviours / Skills:

  • Work independently and autonomously with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to influence Contractors, ADF Stakeholder and Project personnel
  • Work under mínimal direction with an ability to draw conclusions from often scarce information
  • Incorporate policy and procedures into the development of plans and management procedures and processes
  • Communicate effectively both formally and informally to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Provide input to reporting and governance under CASG Reporting

Experience Levels:

  • Minimum 5 years Transition or relevant Defence Project experience (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in related TDL organisations (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in relevant external stakeholder management (mandatory)
  • Experience in C2 Systems (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience in FMS Procurement (Highly Desirable)
  • Logistics Management (Desirable)

Outcomes expected:

  • Develop and deliver required Transition Plans
  • Successfully conduct handover/takeover and commissioning of acquired systems
  • Oversee the ramp up or execution of FIC Deliverables
  • Deliver completed transition certificates for equipment to be transitioned
  • Convene, conduct, and report on the progress of stakeholder working groups
  • Provide required project reports and artefacts
