Application Developer As the Lead Developer in the Applications and Data Services section of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), you will play a key role in advancing and sustaining critical business functions related to Environmental Public Health Systems (EPH).

Your work will involve designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex web-enabled information systems that are crucial for data management and decision-making.

You'll provide technical and operational guidance to IT staff, mentor junior team members, and serve as the primary contact for stakeholders.

Utilizing technologies like Microsoft.

In this role, you will independently make tactical and strategic decisions for application development and system architecture, while escalating significant issues like excessive costs, schedule delays, or resource needs to leadership.

Additionally, you will maintain detailed system and user documentation to ensure clarity and consistency across projects.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using various technologies like.
NET, Office 365, Salesforce, and Java Script platforms.

Stay updated with industry trends to enhance system capabilities and ensure compliance with DOH coding and security standards.
Develop and maintain data integrations using SQL Server and Azure and ensure data quality and accuracy before system integration.
Create and manage complex stored procedures, queries, and ETL processes.
Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau for reporting and develop dashboards.

Develop and manage implementation plans and schedules; allocate resources efficiently, ensure project deadlines are met, and communicate effectively with business units.

Maintain logs for issues, concerns, decisions, and change requests, and produce status reports for executives.
Conduct thorough research and analysis, identify solutions, document changes, and evaluate outcomes.
Use advanced testing principles and tools to ensure developed solutions meet coding, security, functional, and accessibility requirements.
Research and resolve testing failures and support pre-production environments for testing and QA.
Document system processes, code, and functions accurately.
Author explanatory documents post-incident or system failure to ensure comprehensive documentation and continuous improvement.

Provide day-to-day technical guidance, assign tasks based on skills, monitor progress, ensure deadlines are met, and offer support through conflicts and skill growth.


Required Qualifications and Experience:
Your experience must come from full-time equivalent work and may have been gained concurrently.
Any additional years of experience can replace educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Education and/or Progressive experience in IT, such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing, or maintaining software as follows:

Option 1: 11 years of experience Option 2: An Associate's degree in an Information Technology program + 9 years of experience Option 3: A Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology program + 7 years of experience A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development including: Developing secure, enterprise-level web applications.
