The salary range for this position includes Shortage Category Differential and will be determined based on placement and qualifications.

Child/Adult Protective Services Specialist:

  • General C/APS Specialist roles within CWS: $6,066 to $6,774 per month (SR-23, Step D to I)
  • Assessment roles: $6,266 to $6,863 per month (SR-23, Step D to I)
  • Geographical roles: $6,266 to $6,863 per month (SR-23, Step D to I)
  • Assessment and Geographical roles: $6,466 to $6,951 per month (SR-23, Step D to I)

Note: Hiring rates will depend on fund availability, applicant qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Legal Authorization to Work:

Applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Educational Background:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required, including at least 12 semester credit hours in fields such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences.

Relevant Experience:

At least one and a half years of progressively responsible professional experience in assisting individuals and families in identifying problems, coping with challenges, and functioning effectively in their environments.

Protective Services Experience:

A minimum of one year of professional social or human service experience primarily focused on conducting investigations to identify and confirm cases of child or dependent adult abuse/neglect, and developing and implementing treatment plans, including termination of parental rights when necessary.

Driver's License Requirement:

A valid driver's license is necessary for certain positions. For these roles, a valid driver's license must be held at the time of appointment.
