About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team as an Application Development and Data Management Engineer. This is a remote/home-based, full-time, permanent position with the State of Washington.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain web applications using technologies like.NET, Java Script, Microsoft 365, and cloud services like Azure.
  • Utilize database tools like SQL Server and Azure Synapse to build and manage data integrations, ETL processes, and data visualizations.
  • Plan and manage the implementation of system changes, coordinating resources, managing timelines, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Solve complex IT issues, analyze business needs, and provide innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with security and configuration management standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure systems are stable, secure, and ready for deployment.
  • Develop clear and user-friendly documentation for systems, processes, and solutions.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Proven experience in application development, system administration, or data management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies (e.g.,.NET, Dynamics 365), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of IT security standards and experience managing secure applications.
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems and develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Dev Ops and CI/CD tools like Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub.
  • Experience developing containerized applications using Azure Container Apps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience creating custom components and web-based applications with Dynamics 365 Power Platform.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager Paa S for developing custom components and web applications.
  • Experience with Salesforce Paa S for developing custom components and web applications.
  • Experience with reporting software such as Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Tableau, and Power BI.
